Will Smith and Jessica Alba were named winners at the 10th annual Teen Choice Awards last night (03.08.08).

The ‘I Am Legend’ star and new mom Jessica won in the Choice Movie Actor Horror/Thriller and Choice Movie Actress Horror/Thriller categories respectively at the ceremony in Universal Studios’ Gibson Amphitheatre.

Other winners at the event included Keira Knightley, who won the Choice Movie Actress Drama award for her role in period drama ‘Atonement’, and ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’ star Johnny Depp who was crowned Choice Movie Villain. (more…)

HANNAH MONTANA star MILEY CYRUS is hoping to team up with Hollywood actor WILL SMITH for a special performance at this weekend’s (02-03Aug08) Teen Choice Awards.

The ceremony is set to take place in Los Angeles on Sunday (03Aug08) night, with Cyrus as host.

During the event, the teen and her best friend Mandy Jiroux are planning to stage a “dance-off” against Step Up 2: The Streets actor Adam Sevani - and the trio are hoping to invite Smith on stage to join them.

Sevani tells E! Online’s Marc Malkin, “Will Smith is so cool, I did the Kids Choice Awards with him, and he was just so cool. I wanted to use him for our (Teen Choice) performance, but I don’t know if he’s gonna be here.”

WILL SMITH is to revive his role in futuristic action movie I AM LEGEND for a prequel.

Director Francis Lawrence has confirmed he is working on a follow-up to the hit 2007 film and Smith’s character Dr. Robert Neville will return to complete the beginning of the story.

Lawrence says, “Absolutely (there will be a prequel), we’re actually trying to crack that. We’re trying to figure out some ideas for it, but yes, it would be a prequel.”

And the moviemaker insists that filming the follow-up will be much easier than working on the original, because the crew will not have to shut off large areas of New York City again - a move that sparked chaos among commuters and city workers. (more…)

Forbes just released its list of Hollywood’s top paid actors and as it turns out, Will Smith made a little cash last year. Well, $80 million to be exact. Johnny Depp came in second on the list of top paid actors, making $72 million in the last year. Third place went to Eddie Murphy, who earned $55 million for stinkers like this and this.

Mike Meyers takes the fourth spot, followed by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Bruce Wills, Ben Stiller, Nicolas Cage, Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler were also among the top ten. Forbes also reports that Hollywood’s 10 top-earning actors out-earned Hollywood’s 10 best-paid actresses 2-to-1 over the course of the year.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have been rumored for years to have a very open marriage but it was never confirmed by the couple – at least until now.

According to a recent interview with UK magazine Reveal, Will Smith says “Our perspective is, you don’t avoid what’s natural and you’re going to be attracted to people.”

As one of Hollywood’s most powerful couples, the Smith’s 10 year marriage rivals that of many Hollywood relationships that have since fizzled out. According to the magazine Smith says their open marriage has been in place since day one of their marriage. “In our marriage vows, we didn’t say ‘forsaking all others’. Will Smith may be on top at the box office once again with Hancock, but his longtime friend and former rap partner DJ Jazzy Jeff says the success and fame hasn’t gone to the Fresh Prince’s head.

“He’s the biggest movie star on the planet, [but] he’s still the same Will – the same good guy,” Jazzy Jeff, 43, tells PEOPLE. “He’s just a little harder to get in touch with.”

The “Parents Just Don’t Understand” duo recently reunited for an impromptu show at the Hancock premiere in Hollywood.

Will Smith is planning to make a film with Tom Cruise. The ‘Hancock’ actor revealed he has been trying to find a suitable project for them to star in, but has so far been unsuccessful.

He said: “Me and Tom have to work together. I think that would just be genius. We have been pitching some ideas back and forth and trying to find a movie that will be big enough for both of us.”

The actor ” who is close friends with the ‘Top Gun’ actor and his wife Katie Holmes ” also said Tom is a “warm-hearted” person. Will has also expressed an interest in teaming up with ‘There Will Be Blood’ actor Daniel Day Lewis. (more…)

Will Smith’s “Hancock” is no super hero at the box office.

If numbers hold up, “Hancock” will finish a five-and-a-half-day July 4th weekend with just under $100 million. That’s about equal to what his last movie, “I Am Legend,” did last December. The only difference is that “Legend” did that without the advantage of a long holiday weekend.

The other difference is that on “Legend”’s opening night it took in around $30 million. “Hancock” has done very well, but nothing like that. On Friday night it did an estimated $18 million — and that may be an over-estimate. (more…)

Will Smith usually plays the hero in his summer blockbusters. But in “Hancock,” he drinks, swears, mouths off — and goes to prison.

Smith’s role as a superhero-gone-bad could be jarring to some moviegoers — but not his children and wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

In his latest film, “Hancock,” Smith plays a superhero with a mysterious past and a bad attitude. The actor refers to the title role as a “bum superhero”

“He is rude. Mean to kids,” he told Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith. “Like that was so bizarre and opposite to, you know, what my natural instincts (are). It actually was difficult for the first couple of weeks, but actually turned into one of those guilty pleasures.” (more…)

But where was Smith’s main man, Tom Cruise, who has turned up at almost every one of Smith’s movie premieres since Cruise and Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, co-starred in 2004’s Collateral?

“He still had some things to do for Valkyrie,” said Pinkett Smith of her friend’s 2009 Adolf Hitler assassination plot drama. “But he let us know, ‘Sorry, I can’t make it tonight.’ ”

Will Smith ’s soon-to-open private school is not a Scientology facility, as some reports have suggested, the academy’s director said.

Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, have founded the New Village Academy, scheduled to open in September.

The school will use instructional methods developed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard called study technology. And a few teachers belong to the church.

But the couple say they are not Scientologists, and the academy’s director insists the facility has no religious affiliation. (more…)

A-List celebrities like Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Oprah Winfrey descended upon London’s Hyde Park Wednesday for a star-studded dinner as part of a week-long celebration honoring Nelson Mandela.

The former South African president is in London for a series of events to celebrate his 90th birthday, including a big outdoor concert at Hyde Park on Friday — with proceeds benefiting his 46664 charity. The show coincides with the 20th anniversary of London’s Free Mandela concert, which called for his release from prison.

Actor WILL SMITH has warned his wife JADA PINKETT SMITH that her demand he takes time off from acting will leave her exhausted in the bedroom.

Pinkett Smith has begged the 39-year-old to take a break when he ends his world tour promoting new movie Hancock.

He says, “I’ve been working a lot the last couple of years. My wife has said we have to take the next five months off. I enjoy my job, I really enjoy working.

“She might need to be prepared to have lots of sex.”
