Over the past decade, Will Smith has easily been one of the most bankable movie stars in the world. With big-budget action release “Hancock” hitting theaters just in time for the July 4th holiday, Smith will likely add another title to his already impressive list of lucrative movies.

Also entering into the box office equation this weekend is G-rated “Kit Kittredge: An American Girl.” While its rating will ensure somewhat of an overlap in audiences with “Wall-E,” the limited release of “Kit Kittredge” indicates that it won’t have too much of an effect on the computer animated blockbuster but could still reach the top five.

But no matter how well “Kittredge” or “Wall-E” does over the weekend, “Hancock” will undoubtedly be the main attraction. Smith has already topped $50 million three times on the weekend following the Fourth of July with blockbusters “Independence Day,” “Men In Black” and “Men in Black II,” and “Hancock” should easily become number four.

Smith has also never been more popular, as he’s had releases cross $160 million domestically each of the last four years, which is something no other actor can boast. The only potential negative factor is that “Hancock” opened on Wednesday and will likely see its first weekend numbers somewhat depleted, though its first five days in theaters should be very impressive.

“Hancock” will also likely be distributor Sony/Columbia’s first movie to reach $100 domestically in 2008. Currently, Sony/Columbia’s biggest draw of the year is the $92.03 million of “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan.” Look for “Hancock” to cross the $70 million mark for the weekend and finish somewhere in the $75-$80 million range.

With families congregating around the country for Fourth of July festivities, “Wall-E” should once again be an impressive family box office draw. Though “Wall-E” has some competition with new release “Kit Kittredge,” it is aimed at an almost entirely different demographic as “Hancock” and its numbers shouldn’t be too affected. “Wall-E” should finish well ahead of “Wanted” in the number two spot with somewhere around $40 million.

After an impressive $50 million opening intake a week ago, “Wanted” will be relegated to being the second biggest action draw of the weekend with the opening of “Hancock.” It should still have enough drawing power to cross $25 million, however, which will be easily good enough for number three on the charts.

Though “Kit Kittredge” has the advantage of being a G-rated movie opening on a holiday weekend, it will see intense competition from “Wall-E” and might have difficulty making it to the top five. “Kittredge” also brings with it no recognizable names in its cast and its biggest star, child actor Abigail Breslin, is best known for her role in R-rated “Little Miss Sunshine,” which most likely wasn’t seen by the younger audiences that “Kittredge” is aimed at.

Still, “Kittredge” should end up being a nice draw for families not interested in the long lines for “Wall-E” and “Hancock.” “Kittredge” should finish somewhere near $10 million and squeeze into the top five.

The weekend will also likely be the last trip to the top ten for blockbuster “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” The fourth installment of the popular “Indiana Jones” series crossed the $300 million domestic mark earlier in the week and is currently the second biggest domestic draw of the year behind “Iron Man.” On the international level, however, “Indiana Jones” is easily the number one draw of 2008, as its portentous $714 million total is more than $150 million ahead of “Iron Man,” which is the only other release to cross $500 million.

RTT Box Office Estimates For 7/4-7/6 (In Millions):

1) Hancock (Sony/Columbia): $75

2) Wall-E (Buena Vista): $42

3) Wanted (Universal): $28

4) Get Smart (Warner Brothers): $13.5

5) Kit Kittredge: An American Girl (Picturehouse): $9.5

6) Kung Fu Panda (Dreamworks/Paramount): $7

7) The Incredible Hulk (Universal): $5.5

8) Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Paramount): $3.5

9) Love Guru (Paramount): $2.8

10) The Happening (FOX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating): $2.5
